The single most useful (and used) thing I have from Halfords of late is their Professional 33 piece Metric Ratchet Spanner Set:

1/4" bit adaptor & 20 assorted bits

12 x Ratchet Spanners 8mm,9mm,10mm,11mm, 12mm,13mm,14mm,15mm, 16mm,17mm,18mm,19mm

I agree they are good. I have had one 10yrs or so & have had a torx bit replaced(end shattered) and the case replaced as the closing tabs fell off - it was used so much.

yes i have the ratchet spanners too.. very very good.

I've got that very same set (pic in post 4). The 1/4" ratchet failed recently and they replaced it without a blink. You do need to produce the receipt though. My complaint is the inclusion of spanners. It's a socket set for chrissakes. If I want spanners I'll buy some. There are quite a few deficiencies in the sockets that could have been in there instead.

Half the sockets are imperial though which is wasted on most of us and is why I wouldnt buy a set.
