Does having this light on and the Cruise not working mean the brake switch has definitely gone?

Has anybody done a HOWTO on replacement? or have a link to one?

TIA

Probably............Dead easy job, 10 minutes.........do a search, plenty of info.

I had it showing for over a year, it turned out to be a system wide error due to a poor earth point. Once everything had been reset it dissapeared.

Its not always the brakelight switch.

Yours was an exception though, for practically every other case it's the brake switch!

It was the brake light switch on my W202 C280. It took me a little longer than 10 mins to change it though as I had to work out how to lower the plastic underdash cover, dismount the handbrake release bracket thingy etc. and then disconnect old switch put in new one, reconnect etc. etc. I guess relaistically it took me a little over 30 mins. all in.

Easy job once you've done it the first time.

Good luck
