Mercedes E350 CDI 265
Hi again,

Just had my 18'' alloys refurbed however I personally feel they look a little small on the e class.

Now I am wanting to sell them and either get 19'' or 20'' however I'm undecided. Does anyone have a w212 with 20's because I have a feel them will ruin the ride a lot even though some styles look absolutely superb in that size.

I may place it safe and got 19 and eventually get the lowering springs on the car...maybe.

If someone wants to share a few photos with 19s or 20s that would be much appreciated. I really cant make my mind up

I think I have attached a photo of my current wheels.

Callipers not yet finished

Test drive before spending

The pubs are full of people complaining about the ride / suspension settings in their cars and enthusing how well their rims fill their wheel arches.

There's a direct trade off in comfort and size / "style," so do try to ride in cars with larger wheels before flashing the cash.

It's all personal taste - there's no right or wrong.

I run 18 inch wheels on my E500 Elegance and that feels right to me, but when I ride in a Frankfurt taxi I'm always surprised at how "limo like" their balloon 16 inch tyres transform their ride - admitted only those perfect Frankfurt motorways.

Hi had 19s on my w211, One of the 1st things i did was change them for 18's. Gone was the crashy ride and horrible feel through the steering.

Our roads are just to bad for large wheels imho, Alot of owners ive heard on here have had cracked 19" wheels too.

I reduced from 17 to 16 inch, better ride, cheaper tyres and last longer.

my old Mercedes was on 20's but that was a W reg c-class I purchased when I was 19, plus I only had it a week until I crashed the thing.
With this being much newer and a lot more expensive I'm just trying to make sure I get the right ones.
I'm probably swaying towards 19's because I see a lot of Mercs with them so I'm pretty sure they cant be too bad and they don't look oversized.
As you say though, its personal taste but even with 20's I'm pretty confident my merc would drive smoother than the Mondeo ST I had with low profile tires.
Thanks for the info
