Can anybody give me advice/approach to fill two 3/4 cm round holes in my rear bumper on the SEC.

They were cut originally for tow bar and electrics, and are now surplus to requirements, and I would like to fill them myself.

The car will need paint in lots of places later, so don't worry about info on that.

Thanks in advance

Do you mean the holes are 3 to 4 cm in diameter, or 3/4 (0.75) cm?

You can get special fillers for plastic bumpers but IMO a 4 cm hole would need some sort of support (mesh etc.) bonding in to bridge it before filling.

Sorry Bill yes, 3 to 4cm in diameter, and there are two of them.

It would definitely need a backing or support. Simple plate, larger than the hole, glued in place to give a backing and the fill when the plate is secure, I would say.

Is it worth the effort when a good used bumper may be bought for , say , £25

I know that's what a local breaker sold a pair of prefacelift SEC bumpers to a friend for last year .

Derek, if you can find me a facelift rear bumper for that money I will bite your arm off.

There is one on ebay now for 195 quid.

How about fitting reversing sensors? They are often colour coded and may not need painting.
