The boot lid only opens about a foot, roof up or down, and won't open another inch, I can find nothing jammed, somebody please help, we're supposed to go North for the weekend and I need to take my buggy. Martin.

Some boot lids/tailgate can be programmed to open only so far. This is to prevent bodywork coming into contact with low ceilings. Not sure if your car has this facility or not.

Hi, thanks for that, it's too low for the boot to be used.

The only connections I can see between the boot lid and the body, are the wiring, the 8 (i think) hinge points, and the 2 gas struts, is there a roof interlock I can't see, could a gas strut have seized ?

Thank for the list, I'm keeping that.
Got it sorted, the left hand boot strut had broken free of its bottom joint, , expanded under the side trim and got stuck below the ball fitting, levering it sideways got it free and I was able to lever it clear. Multiple thanks to you guys for stepping in. Martin.
