My C63 is going into Mercedes tomorrow for alignment after another dealiership couldn't get it right. They have ordered Castor bolts in to get it within spec, my car prev had camber bolts fitted by mb too. Has anyone had castor bolts fitted to their car? One of the excuses mb made was sometimes cars with "replica" wheels don't align properly and this is after me telling him my wheels are genuine 507 wheels and I can provide an invoice from mb...

Whats the problem with it?

Steering wheel sitting off centre. First few attempts were totally off with steering sitting either off to left or right. Stock suspension too.

I was aware of camber bolt revisions for the C63 but not castor bolts so thought someone on here may have heard of them or even had them fitted

Had the car aligned from Mercedes and the steering wheel is still sitting off to the left.. spoke to a manager who says the car is definitely within Mercedes tolerances and he says he wants have the steering wheel removed and then adjusted so it sits straight!? I've had many cars aligned and this is the first time this has been suggested to me?

Im considering cutting my losses and taking the car elsewhere to get aligned. It's a 204 c63 non PP car with stock suspension and 19" wheels..

I had mine done by a local independent and was perfect and car drives so much better now.

My Merc dealer took two goes at getting the steering wheel straight. Nothing to do with the caster or camber, simply the track rod ends had been adjusted unequally when the toe was set.

Whereabouts are you? I can thoroughly recommend Wheels-in-Motion in Chesham

In Edinburgh, I've arranged to meet the tech who done the alignment and I'm going to suggest I sit in the vehicle holding the wheel straight while he re adjusts the car.. failing that I'm going to cut my losses and go elsewhere :fail

Yes it does. This is typical of the 204 chassis I'm told. Sure wheels in motion have a fix for this

Maindealers are clueless at this.

Take it to somewhere like wheels in motion who do this day in day out.

Mine was off once too. Took it for Hunter laser alignment, problem solved.
