C63 stone chips

Hi, new member here.
I have a 2015 C63 and I have noticed multiple small stone chips on the front sills
extending about halfway the length of the doors. Is it because if the tyre width sitting beyond the bottom of the front wings?. Would appreciate any thoughts.

Yes.

My pre-facelift E63 in Obsidian Black suffered badly when Bucks County Council decided to top-dress around 8 miles of my daily commute route and every viable alternative at the same time

Thanks for your reply, our roads have not had that luxury!, I just have never seen this before on any of my previous cars. Spoke to the dealer when I dropped the car in for it's first service, he had no explanation

After the top-dressing incident (and boy is driving 8 miles at 20mph or less b-o-r-i-n-g ) the front two feet of the underside of both sills looked like they'd been shotpeened
