Hey guys, next week I was planning on removing my rear calipers on my C55 and getting my dad to shot blast them and paint them silver, but the shot blasting isn't a good idea, without a rebuild. I also think the calipers would look nice if they were red, so now iam thinking of taking the front and rears off and getting them done red.

I don't like the idea of just painting them myself as iam sure it wont look that good and last.

Are there any decent places online i can send them for a rebuild and respray, or anywhere near me in Stafford.

Avoid the place in Nottingham.

Had mine done refurbished and paint blue to match car by AP racing not cheap but a fantastic job

After a little these research this guy is supposed to be awesome: Pro Calipers

Found a lot of his work on some high end porkers, so cant be bad. Gonna give him a ring Monday.

Beats me doing it myself and doing a crap job.

Think it should look great with black car and grey wheels......

I use these guy's alot of the time: Bigg Red

Looking on there FB page, the quality looks really bad, can see all sorts of bubbles and stuff under the paint, looks like a job you'd do painting them by hand, left on the car, not prepping them very well.

The quality I get back is always very good, remember though these are not painted but polymer coated.

Caliper's can only look as smooth as the casting they are made of, rough casting gives a rough finish. Unless you want to mess around sanding them down or using filler.;) Alloy brembo's should be fairly smooth so will look better than iron calipers.

Mine are powder coated so you can build up the layers to get them perfectly smooth

Aren't all AMG calipers powder coated? Mine are..

Just rang the guy at pro calipers, and he says on some Mercedes, you cant get hold of replacement seals etc for the calipers, so now I need to find the part numbers for them and see if I can even get them.

Sounds about right that Merc wont sell you a set of seals, but will sell the whole caliper.:wallbash:

What paint and prep did you use? Also where did you get the decals from and are they lacquered over to stop them pealing?

Great job[emoji106]

You mean these? http://www.brakecaliperspecialists.uk/

They look good and says they offer 4 year warranty even on the paint.

I was going to send a set to them too... ??

Not good?

I follow them on fbook and their work seems very good.

They don't know what they are doing and the paint doesn't last. I made a detailed post on them in the AMG section some time ago. Will try to find or just use search.

Been recommended them as the only place to use. Sadly they don't do stencilling.
