How is this done please, and where can the captured image be stored?

On a PC: Print screen key (top right of keyboard) then in paint/Photoshop etc, Paste it and save the image.

On a mac: ⌘, Shift and 3 (was on system 8, I guess it is now aswell?)

On Android: Vol down & Power button (hold for 2 secs)

Oops sorry .

Mine (being a laptop) has a shared key ("home" with "prt sc") so I guess it's the "fn" and "prt sc" together.

I'll give it a go.

Thanks.

EDIT - works a treat, ta.

I should mention i only last year learned to use print screen button and put it into use on occasion but now i really like snipping tool

I always use ScreenHunter 5.1 to capture either the whole screen or any part of the screen. I find it very easy to use and its free.
Don't be tempted by any version later than 5.1 . This is the easiest and quickest version.

Get it free from here.......

ScreenHunter 5.1 Free 5.1.145 - CNET Download.com

Alt+Print Screen on Windows does just the active window rather than entire screen. But as mentioned, for Windows Vista and above use the built in 'Snipping Tool'

I only found Print Screen last night - I'm using Vista 64 bit, what/where is this snipping tool?

Ctrl+PrtSc copies entire display to clipboard
Ctrl+Alt+PrtSc copies active window to clipboard
