Central Locking Problem C220

I would appreciate help please,I have a 2005 model C220,I have recently had both keys stop working,i changed batteries in both with correct type.I now have to hold the remote against the receiver below the door lock as there is no range to operate as normal. I have swiped around with my other remotes for my C230. Any ideas appreciated. Thankyou

Check the fuses in the rear fuse box

Thanks for the link,I did not realise that the keys were also relying on radio reception and/or infared
