CLK55 AMG
So there has been very little in the classifieds over the last 5 years that has tempted me out of my 55.

But oh my giddy aunt this is SO much AMG:

I've read a lot about these over the years and almost bought a CL600 with black wood and extended Nappa a few months before I found my CLK.

Step one:

sell it to the Mrs on the basis that it's easier to get the kids in and out of the back.

Now that is seriously nice. I think you should go and have a good look at it. Do the washing up and hoovering a bit more and treat yourself.

That's where my heads at Lee.

if I remember correctly the last one I saw retailed at 24

That's too cheap... typo perhaps? Looks like one hell of a motor!

It's an auction house so this is just a starting price.

Now that is a motor !! Piano black changes the interior

Cracking looking car.

I also thought it was too cheap but if an auction car - I imagine it will hit the big 2s.

Still good value at £20k though.

rare car .. and interior completely covered in nappa leather and alcantara

lovely

get it!

I love it too

As said though, this is only a 'guide' price. The last Mercedes I was interested in at a specialist auction made four times the guide price...! No-one will realistically expect that to make only £10k.

Do not under estimate the pain that one of these can inflict on your wallet.

The one in the advert seems to be riding too high which could be indicative of air suspension issues.

If serious about it, get it thoroughly inspected by a specialist who knows these well and has Star.

I think it's ABC (hydraulic) on the 215 CL? But yes, they were very expensive cars to run/repair even when new - I guess that's one reason why they've depreciated so heavily!

it's on raised mode .. I can do it on my CLS too

Bloody lovely, and I have a spare spot on the drive..................

That's about £10k too cheap.

I'd say £5k too cheap personally.

Don't drive one unless you are fully committed to pulling the trigger on a potentially super expensive vehicle.

The twin turbo V12s get under your skin unlike anything else. The wave of torque is just unstoppable.

The market for these is very very small...did I already mention that buying a house could be cheaper than running one? ;)

These cars were and still are competing with Bentley and Aston Martin. So despite the fact it's very affordable to buy it will still cost a couple of limbs and possibly an internal organ to run.

Forearmed is forewarned.

ABC and motor mounts are the only real costly problems on the V12. The ABC is the same on most AMG cars.

The coils are an issue on the older ones but have been fixed on the later cars and new coils now come with a lifetime warranty so it is a one time fix.

Extra plugs and a little extra on a service with an Indy mechanic are not too much of a problem.

Other than those issues the rest of the car will be solid and fairly cheap to maintain. Or no more than most other 10+ year old car.
