i use Bilt Hamber Auto Clay. Only requires water as lubricant.

Will have a look for that one too

I struggle with the idea if using a clay product and not being able to see when it's dirty, I'm open to being convinced but with traditional white clay it's very apparent when it's dirty and needs changing.

Clay Cloths can use Soapy water as lubricant as well - clay cloths are rinsed in warm water during the claying process and this removes contaminants from the surface. No kneading in required like a clay bar and far quicker. You don't have to see the clay dirty to know you're removing contaminants - the feel of the paint will tell you that!

I have just ordered my clay cloth... can't wait.

I have switched from the bar to the mitt and now to the cloth. My thoughts below.
  • The bar was a pain the in butt, the detailing spray was annoying and left loads of residual
  • The mitt was very good and I just used my standard car shampoo as lubricate. The mitt significantly reduced time for me to clay the car
  • The cloth looks even better. I like how the cloth can hold a lot of soapy water, therefore, providing plenty of lubricate
