911 turbo (CLK black series pending)
Evening all, new member as of 5 mins ago looking for input & advice. I test drove a 2007 clk63 amg black series today and subject to sorting an issue with the ppf with the dealer I am intending on buying it. Just wondered if any body could offer any buying advice or knows any of the cars history. Reg is FG57 XVV.

Thanks in advance.

Have you seen this ?
Nothing major but worth knowing

Advisory notice item(s)
Nearside Front coil spring corroded (2.4.C.1b)
Offside Front coil spring corroded (2.4.C.1b)
Nearside Rear coil spring corroded (2.4.C.1b)
Offside Rear coil spring corroded (2.4.C.1b)
oil leak
Nearside Front Shock absorber has a light misting of oil (2.7.3)
number plates pressed format

Yes, I remember seeing those on the latest mot but didn't pay much attention at the time. Thinking about it now when I bought my turbo there was a "light misting on shock absorber" noted as an advisory which resulted in the dealer replacing the shock absorber!
Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Thanks for this although it doesn't mean a lot to me. I don't think the black series had to many options available as it's was already pretty high spec'd. Happy to be corrected on this if anyone knows better?

Is it an actual CLK Black, or a replica? Sorry but I cannot see where on the datacard it would be.
Perhaps a link to the car??

Cancel the above I have just spotted the P98 SPECIAL MODEL "AMG BLACK SERIES", must get myself to specsavers :D

P98 SPECIAL MODEL "AMG BLACK SERIES"

On the datacard in Post 2 :D

Too late, I corrected myself! ;)

Price is about right, will appreciate if the miles are kept low.

Mind you for a few more £ you could purchase a c63 Bs which is a far better drivers car.

Are you sure you wanna spend £85k on that

You could get a much more flash car eg AMG GTR, Mercedes-Benz AMG 4.0 GT (Premium Pack) Speedshift DCT 2dr

Also bare in mind the GTR is basically brand new, 16 reg 4K

Or even;
Ferrari, Maserati, Audi R8, even a lambo!!!!!!!!!!

IMO you need a screw loose to wanna drop 85k on a that, BS or not. Its awesome no doubt but not 85k.

Go find one cheaper, like I said they are appreciating in value, go figure.

Yep, I'm sure. Unlike most exotic cars it is incredibly rare and likely to appreciate whilst being a hoot to drive. The amg GT will be trading at less than £50k within 5 years but I would expect the black series to have increased in value by a similar amount in that time frame.

It wouldn't do for us all to be the same, I already have a 911 turbo but really feel the need to have a rare hardcore limited edition AMG and they do not come any better looking or more fun to drive than the CLK BS.

These modern supercars (Ferrari, lambo, AM GTR) are so technologically advanced with all the electronic aids and dual clutch gear boxes that they take the fun out of driving. You need to be doing well in excess of 100mph to feel any excitement which is risky on public roads and with the new speeding fines expensive!

Cars like my turbo (manual, mezzer) and the CLK BS are an analogue driving experience which ultimately is more rewarding to drive and becoming a rarity on today's roads. In 10 years time half the cars on the road will be driving themselves (maybe literally) and the cars I have will be rare beasts indeed.
