CLK55 AMG W209
Hi All,

Does anyone have any documentation, advice, hints and tips to replace the V poly belt tensioner and idler pulley on a W208 CLK55?

I did have a good search on this forum before posting.

I spent most of the day looking on various sites and youtube and found some great videos, but they mainly seem for the M112 engine and seem to have loads of room in front of the radiator. No videos for CLK55

I did find these two great video's and get the idea of to replace them but when I look at mine I have no room to move and see I need to remove the Viscous Fan and fan shroud to get access.

Has anyone else attempted this job and have any advice?
In the video he says about the three Allen bolts that hold the fan. Are they easy to locate and what size etc.

Basically I need advice removing the fan assembly to get access to the belt, also there is the Radiator water hoses in the way.

Anyhow thanks for listening any help gratefully received

I know i sort of answered my own questions somewhat above, but just looking for any extra advice before attempting this job.

Also the Bolt torque settings for the idler pulley and tensioner etc in nm would be great

All the best

Hi All,

Does anyone know the correct procedure to to get access to the Poly belt and tensioner??
I had a try yesterday to remove the three bolts holding the fan on the clutch but its so tight I can barely feel the three bolts let alone get a tool in there.

Please, any help and advice greatly received. Surely someone on this forum knows
or has attempted this job on a W208 CLK55 AMG.

I would at least like to attempt this job before getting my local indy to do the job.

Regards

Barry
