hi, pressed the a/c button on the cls today and the red led just started to flash and the a/c wouldnt kick in.

does this have to be checked via start or is there an alternative way to diagnose?

STAR would be the better option, probably needs a regas though
 
My 204 had the 3 flashes then off indicator, and the AC pressure sensor was faulty, reading too low.

So it's likely either the pressure sensor, or actually low pressure (leak, or just needs topping up).

Suspect the best approach is to get it to an a/c specialist though, there are many possible faults. Around our way, there are several mobile a/c specialists - makes it a bit easier.
