Code 1628 - front indicator malfunction

Hi.

W215 2003 CL600

Every now and again the front left indicator malfunctions (dashboard indicator flashes rapidly and external bulb does not light up) and I get the dashboard warning sign. It's very intermittent.

I've had the bulb and associated wiring checked and given the all clear.

My friend's code reader showed up code B1628, component E1e5 (think that's right) ... a module of some kind?

Is this a simple fix, please? If so, where is the best place to source parts? MB dealer, or is there an alternative?
