Convicted driver insurance............joke!

Hi all, looking for some advice,I've just acquired a criminal conviction and now my insurance company won't let me have a classic car insurance policy.A normal private insurance policy has seen the quote jump from £300 to nearly £800.Now for a car that only does a thousand miles per year that just not worth the expense,anyone else had this kind of treatment and where's best to go for the cover? Thanks :-(

What was the offence?

If for example it was for a fraudulent insurance claim, or anything involving money and dishonesty, then that's probably cheap.

If on the other hand it was littering, then they're extracting the proverbial.

Get used to it.I acquired a conviction in 2005 in an employee relations dispute.Added a loading to every premium I have,house work,motoring,travel and many wont even quote even now.Most recent was 15%on my van.
