Evening all ....

I have just had 4 new vredestein sessanta fitted to my 2010 w204.

Excellent tyres so far!

One issue, the drivers front tyre seems to have wear on the corner of the wheel. i can tell its slightly more then the other tyres as its rubbed away the tyre gel.

Two possible existing issues/causes which could relate?

* Balancing is incorrect as the car shakes at 70, this will be correct on Saturday - ??

* Possible faulty steering rack which is due to be looked at next week my Mercedes.

The car is also drifting to the left since having the tyres fitted, before this it drove perfectly straight.

Anyone?

I have googled this and it seems common, I am told that the alignment can only be done via Mercedes. Is this true?

Get the balancing done but I suspect the alignment is out

Steve, I should just PM you direct :)

I was thinking along the same line, Mercedes want £200 for alignment?! :dk:

Balancing and alignment are two entirely different issues, if it is toeing out then the offside front will wear and toeing in the nearside front will wear but this test takes no account of camber. I would have thought though that any competent tyre specialist (and others) would be able to do a geometry test on all 4 wheels, last time it cost me under £30!
