Mercedes c220 cdi
Hi all. Happy New Year to you; this is my first post as I've just joined!

I've recently purchased my first Merc and am loving it; a black c220 cdi estate (please check out the pix). The car came with 235/35 ZR 19 w xl tyres on, which I then later found out reading the manual were not standard. As I of a far bit of motorway driving, I recently got the pressures checked for these tyres; they were at 51psi and I went to the local National Tyres and the manager there said they should be 35psi at the front and 42 psi at the back, and proceeded in adjusting to these settings. Naturally as there are enthusiasts and experts here I'd love to get your advise please. Many thanks :)

Have a look in the manual, or in your fuel filler flap. The pressures listed there will be for the standard and optional wheel and tyre sizes, but will provide a good guide for wheels/tyres of all[/ sizes. Stick to those :thumb:

Bobby Dazzler mate, I've already done that; there are only psi's listed for 16, 17 & 18 inch Tyres

Thanks Minz :)

Mine has the 18" wheels.
Looking at the table, is it suggesting that the 17 and 18 inch wheels are both low profile and that's why they are grouped together? Sorry I can't help but perhaps a specialist wheel supplier could shed some light.
In my experience the likes of ATS and national Tyres are not always the experts that they claim to be.

The psi's are listed in this image; can you see it ok Bobby Dazzler as I included the image in my last post addressed to you?

Go with the same as 18-inch and adjust if necessary based upon wear patten. So assuming part load 30 PSI front and 33 PSI rear.

I suspect the 16-inch wheels/tyres are steel wheels. Does you handbook list the 16 inch steel wheels as being for winter use?

The handbook says this; as I mentioned, unfortunately there is no word of 19" Tyres. Any further thoughts?

Yes, go with the pressures recommended by Mercedes for the 18-inch wheels (30F/33R) and adjust based upon wear (if required).

No problem :thumb:
