I am experiencing extensive corrosion on my E Class 200 ( 1999 )

I would welcome comments from other members who have the same problem

My wife runs an A Class 170 Auto and has had to have a new gear box fitted. Is this a common problem ?

Errmm... yes and ....yes..

Both problems are common..

For the corrosion if the car has full MB service history just get it into the dealer asap and they will propose a claim to MB UK.

The gearbox is pretty standard fare..

Corrosion - on an E-class? Never!

(this is what I discovered today while hunting for an ATF leak, fortunately its all cleaned and painted now )
