I don’t think a pressure washer can do that?

It can if the bird crap has etched into the paint.

No idea what it is birds eat but I have heard of other occasions where its eaten into the paint, quick blast with a pressure washer and there goes the lacquer.

OP - I’d get that to a body shop as they would have to paint the panel I’d imagine.

I suspect the car wash has a notice about owners risk or something like that. Could always ask but they could argue it was done after you left etc. :(

I think that a chemical burn. Its definitely not burd poo (This man knows :

I'm afraid that, that has to be a professional repair, the panel needs rubbed back and thoroughly cleaned up before building it back up can begin..

Not a criticism mercy me but why? Curious to know!

Just seen this, sorry for the delay in replying!

The reason is that a much greater volume of the inevitable air borne contaminants such as dust, seeds etc will be more of a problem on a flat / horizontal surface than on a vertical surface. Also, it is difficult to carry out a small area repair on a bonnet or roof as there are few angles to fade / blend the paint and lacquer. This is why bonnets and roofs must be resprayed in a controlled environment.
