I am disabled and have been driving for 20 years with cars converted to hand control.  Am considering a new(ish) C class for my next car.

I have never been totally happy with hand control conversions on my previous cars (not Mercedes) which in the UK tend to be done by small engineering firms and are often not very well engineered.

However I have noticed the Kempf conversion for Mercedes which appears to be better engineered. Kempf is a French firm which appears to focus on Mercedes (and BMW) conversions.

Does anyone have any information  / experience about this?  Or other hand control conversions for Mercedes?

There are some pictures of the Kempf conversion at --

And the UK agent is SVO in Swindon--

Thanks for any help

Sorry, I can´t help with any experience, just wanted to wish you good luck.

I´m just learning about mobility for the disabled as my stepfather [always a very keen driver,] has recently been confined to a wheelchair, so my researches have been into vehicles converted to permit wheelchair access.

It´s a topic that we probably think about too little until we have no alternative.

I hope you find a suitable conversion and enjoy your C class. <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Hi, we had a CL600 (V12) come in with hand controls.

Pretty hard to drive for me, being not used to it, but the kit it had on seemed very well enginered and precise.

was very pokey though...was a V12 mind <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>
