We've just got back from Dol Llys Farm Caravan & Campsite and thought I'd post up how impressed we were with the site. we can highly recommend it for a quiet peaceful retreat. The River Seven runs through it and the fishing is free too, we even caught two small fish using a small net. Campfires are also allowed by the river off the grass so we made the most of that too. Car club's are also allowed as long as the tranquil setting is respected.

The owner of the farm allows you to participate in the daily running of farm if you want to, so Dan and Hannah have been bottle feeding calf's and lamb's and shearing sheep all weekend.

They told us on the phone a few days before we arrived that they were full all weekend, but you'll see from the pictures below that it wasn't busy at all.

It's a 2hr 30min drive for us and we'll be regulars now. See you all there hopefully.

Was there much near by also?

The town of Llanidloes is only a 15-20 minute walk away, with everything you'll need. Spar shop, co-op supermarket, take away, pubs, restaurants banks etc.

We went to see Rhaeadrau Waterfalls and Devils Bridge whilst we were there. It was raining, so it made sense to head for the waterfalls. ;)

If you want a beach, head for Aberystwyth, which is about 40-50 mins away.

The site is that peaceful and tranquil, we really didn't want to head out too much.

Any other Camping sites?

This looks really nice - have you guys any other recommendations 2-3hours drive from Bolton[any longer and it's a nightmare in the Mrs A class - but it's a tardis and we can get everything in] we have been doing the holiday parks mainly on the east coast - Reighton Sands / Withernsea / Mablethorpe / Skeg etc and once to Kent which was a looooooong drive!

We are campers that prefer an electric hookup and a decent shower block - no latrines for us please!

Hello

We have been here several times..

We really like it, you can walk into Keswick from the site through a wooded forest.

Keswick Camping & Caravan Parks | Castlerigg Hall

We caravan, but the tent users have and indoor kitchen area if weather bad, and free wifi. the toilets and showers are amonst the best I have seen on a tent site?

The view.

Restuarant on site, pub just on the entrance.

:)

Aja, great thread. I may go here next year as was thinking down that way could be a nice touring holiday?

A210, There are several good campsites on Ullswater, not great facilities wise, but fancy this for a view. To be honest, bar price, and that Pooley Bridge is so nice to eat in, thats why we go...

Waking up to this is special
