Hi all,

Would anyone know what is a healthy ash content for a DPF? No issues with mine apart from the sensor being replaced recently at just over 100K miles. Ash content read 47% ... Just curious.

Cheers,

Rob ..

I would think that is quite high. Do you only drive it on short journeys?

Thanks for your reply,

Actually 95% of my milage is motorway/open road and half of that (ie; return journeys) are late at night (steady 80mph) ...

Rob ..

how are you reading this ?? Through STAR??? as I get this on my MBII

Ash can not be burnt while doing a regeneration, only soot, so if your dpf is at 47%, it's at 47% of its life,

Many thanks for the reply's gents ..

There are a few company's here that clean DPF's and remove ash completely. I'll consider it when needed. At 101K miles and 47% full, I've a good bit to go ....

Thanks again,

Rob ..
