Hi. I have not used the merc for 6 months and battery had gone flat. I charged battery up abd everything good, it starts instantly. No fault showing at all. The problem is the gear lever appears to be locked in PARK. It will not move into any other gear. Ive tried parking brake on and off also foot on brake pedal but it dont want to move out of park. Any ideas, its probably me forgetting how to drive but it was all good a few weeks ago as i had to move it. Everything was normal.

Chris is correct BTW. Happened to me once in my Vito.
An E-Class I bought from a fellow forum member came complete with a chop stick to remedy the fault should it ever arise.
