Just out of interest here is a cross section of some quotes

Current renewal price from Footman James £429 up by £40 over last year.

Comparethemoneysuperconfusedmeerkat - Cheapest 3 range from £533 to £698

Classic insurer randomly selected from Car mag - £288 + £20 for agreed value paperwork.

All have the same level of cover and similar frills and garnish.

If only the energy suppliers were this far apart with their prices.

.

But they don't have the same level of cover. It seems the agreed valve cover is the ONLY appropriate cover for your car.

Palfrem - please can you let me know which classic insurer you spoke to? I have a 1994 E36, and I only do maybe 200 miles a year in it nowadays. I struggled to find someone that classed it as a classic. Most seemed to prefer treating it (and me) like a chav for owning such an 'old' car..
Thanks.
