Is your E55 an estate or saloon out of interest?

Its not the Unicorn Estate I afraid but the humble Saloon ...which is now in the classified ads.

Ah OK thanks for confirming. I will likely be in the market for an E55k Estate soon.

Looks like a nice example but shame it isn't an estate [emoji6] I'd have a saloon for sure if I didn't have the QP.

There is the one on E bay, not far from me that is priced ...Ambitiously but has already dropped slightly.

Is that the silver 2004 one for about 14k?

Yup, thats the one. Got the price wrong by a k. I looked at this a few times and it has been for sale a little while. Just think it is a smidge too much money and not a high spec car so maybe the market isn't seeing that as favourable. No keyless go, no sunroof, no cooled seats, no distronic. It also has 7 owners now which is more than most would like. Also an 804 build when often an 805 is preferred. Mileage is fine.

I bought a newer 805 build 2005/55 E55 Estate a year or so ago for much much less money. Similar mileage and a higher spec car.

When you start picking through it seems like the existing owner/seller is not being 100% truthful or maybe isn't aware of some facts. A little Google search and Cazana search reveal some things. When you start finding things in the ad that are not as you should be you start to doubt the sellers integrity which is always a worry for me.

It was up for sale at £12950 in November 2016 I am guessing from the previous owner. Maybe the current owner has had it since then and looking to sell at the price they paid. It hasn't got a 12 month MOT as it runs out on 24th Feb 2018. The service history is not FMBSH. The Cazana ad clearly says it had FMBSH until 2014 then an indy after that. Not a problem in my eyes at all but just be honest.

I don't think the current owner has had it for 2 years more like 1 year or just over. I haven't done a full search to see but could do to find out. It has done 5k miles ballpark in that year or so therefore used enough but not infrequent in my book. Regardless it makes little difference. The car was registered new on 01/03/2004 but the Ebay add says 20/09/2014 and MOT on Ebay ad says 09/2018 when MOT check says 24/02/18.

The current owner has had it serviced at SJB Motors in Keynsham who are an indy not a main dealer so no FMBSH as mentioned. Even on SJB's website it makes no claim or is not mentioned by Steve Bradley himself that he was a Master Mercedes Technician. He may well be and I am sure they are a great indy but I would expect that to be mentioned on their site for sure.

I would have been interested in the car but there are two many upfront immediate anomalies for me to bother going any further. I would prefer a more honest seller/car warts and all. Honesty is the best policy for me. I never try to hide anything when I sell a car. Too honest for my own good me!

I don't see anyone buying one of these for an appreciating asset in a collection. Unless I'm missing something. The ad states 'It won;t go for any silly offers'. It might need to as it won't sell at £13k or anywhere close IMHO. Not for this car.

Well...If you want to feel alive when your getting on try these things , slingshot comes to mind on the S1000R & the R NINE t 1200 has lovely low down torque from any speed, exhilarated I am!

That looks incredibly cheap to me...not biased at all!

Just been relisted at £12999. It won't sell at that price.
The owner is asking a good £2k too much IMO.
Agree with Rockits above, not a great spec and a few anomalies in the description.

LOL....I take it this one is yours? Nice example. Had any viewings or offers?

Why are you selling & what are you replacing it with?

It's not mine, but I do own a silver E55 estate, I'm only biased in that I want mine to be worth more ;)

I've owned mine a year and mine is probably slightly better spec'd than that and cost about £2k less. Mine isn't a 7 seater, but I didn't want the extra seats.

If you want a non silver estate....this is a bargain.....

Mercedes-Benz E Class 5.4 E55 AMG 5dr

OK, thanks. Seems like you paid a good & right price for yours then.

I'm not sure the 2006 black one is a bargain @ 17k but seems a decent car. Only problem for me with black is it starts to look like a hearse. I'm not ready for one of those yet. I'd rather have a silver I think if a Blue wasn't available.

The black one starts to make the silver 2004 car a little expensive which it is.

I keep toying with selling my 55K wagon as I've really hardly ever driven it in last couple of years. Problem is though when I do get in it and give it a gentle blast, I just can't bring myself to part with it!! I saw one on the M40 last week and made me smile even though I wasn't driving mine. Somehow the estates just look right.

Yes. Keep it.

Saloon ain't bad either lol

Still amazes me coming up two years March. Truly amazing car in all guise the 55. If one wants the v8 bug this is a must car/ engine in a lifetime of motoring

Had mine 5 years. It’s a love hate relationship. When it works I love it when something goes wrong I hate it and think of selling.

So S1000r is off the menu...a few things.
Its a bit buzzy & quite a few things need Specialist BMW tools etc £££ no thanks. Mainly though I have a problem with my left foot, it drops due to nerve damage after a spine Op & TBH its why I bought AMG's as they were pokey Auto's as driving the manuals is literally a pain.I have been lolloping around on a few bikes & it does make the ankle ache after a while so...To some the devils sporn but to me Wow...V4 power, low down torque, its the bike world equivelant to a E55 Honda VFR1200 DCT...Ooomph 170 BHP, 2.7 62MPH pulls in 5th from 30mph all the way to 166+Mph(not that I'd ever see that!) & it will poodle around as smooth as silk when you want !
