I wonder if anyone here on the Forum can share their experience regarding the use of engine additives. Does the use of engine additives reduce engine-wear and improve fuel consumption (as it is claimed by additives manufacturers)?

Save your money, use it to buy a quality full synthetic oil or change a decent conventional oil on a more regular basis.

All additives do something but can have side effects from bearing corrosion to blocked oil filters and all tend to change the oil viscosity to some extent.

On the whole not worth it and if you stick somthing like Molyslip into a car with an oil quality sensor system it will think the oil is murkier than it really is.
