Engine died when stop start was active

Hi,

I've just driven from Blackpool to Harrogate where I work and was in standing traffic and stop start kicked in. When I took foot off the brake the engine died ! I put car in park and turned key and engine fired up again but it was a bit embarrassing as I was stopping cars turning into the traffic from a side road whilst I panicked and wondered what was going on. Has anyone else had this issue with their stop start system ?

Car is a 62 plate E350 CDI Coupe.

Yes, it's happened to me too. I was in a queue of stationary traffic on the outside lane of the
M25. When I lifted my foot off the brake the engine started roughly as if running on 3 cylinders and immediately stalled. It restarted correctly with the key but was an unpleasant experience! Asked the dealer to check it a couple of weeks ago at service, they said it was a 'loose connection' in the engine bay but didn't elaborate. I too would like to hear of similar experiences with Eco start-stop.
Car is 61 plate E250.
