Expensive paint

I have the. Designo Hyacinth Red ( BTW...There is no red Hyacinth) Why is it more expensive than normal metallic paints?

Because people are prepared to pay a premium for it.

It has the word Designo in front of it, so they can charge you more.

They do look nice though

It probably also a PITA to respray (3 coats).

Lots of metallics are 2 step: colour coat + lacquer.
