I'm going to fit the genuine CLK500 badge back on the boot of my W209 (car was ordered de-badged by previous owner)

Knowing my luck I will mess it up - are there any special techniques or tips to fitting the badge?

All the letters are separate by the way and sat on waxed paper so can't be applied all in one go.

    Thanks in advance!

They should be on the paper in the correct spacing.

Apply some masking tape to act as a line on where the badge should go - find an equivalent car and measure exactly where the badge sits by measuring distance from edge ad top of bootlid etc.

Once masking tape applied, lift up paper across the badge half-way up the letters, so bottom-half of all letters is exposed...attach bottom half of badge to boot right on masking tape line, lift up the paper upwards to remove completely whilst pressing the letters upwards.

Then remove masking tape and you're done.

Masking tape on the other side and pull off the sticking side
So they are now stuck onto the masking tape
At the correct spacing as supplied.
Best to measure another car so the badges are fitted in the correct height etc
Nothing worse than poorly fitted badges I.e paintjob
