Hi does anyone know if the new burmeister and command system can play audio files in FLAC via the uploading into the Music Register 10GB it could be my conversion and settings are not correct for setting the quality of file conversion ... car is C Class C300 A205 August 2017 convertible premium plus instead of mp3 file? thanks

Don't know for certain but would be surprised if it did. The primary purpose of FLAC file is storage not playback. So it stores music in compressed (so it takes up less space) and lossless so that you have CD quality.

Most playback devices don't support FLAC since you need to have the software present to convert this to something playable. So probably need to convert your FLAC files to .wav or another compatible format (must be a handbook?)

Not entirely true - even my mates 2016 Skoda plays FLAC files without issue, so that should be common across VAG cars of that age. It is just down to if they have included the decode s/w. FLAC is used because it reduces storage of a CD to roughly half and can be decoded in real time so is a recognised storage and playback format. You would need to check the handbook for the specific sound system to see what the file support is. If it does support it and the files are not playing then it is down to the conversion software.

If it doesn't play FLAC then try AAC which saves space but is better than MP3 - anything is better than MP3
