locating a donor is not an issue
my friend has checked with dvla about retaining registration etc using chassis, suspension, running gear (engine, gearbox, steering rack) should achieve the required point to keep it on uk registration not Q plate.
the problem he is looking for somebody who done such a project, better still used this kit.
have bodyshop ready for the project only problem going to the unknown
the supplier seems more interested in supplying complete car (60k euro), my friend is looking as self built and using most of the slk running gear including interior dash etc.
they are not playing ball.
also it seems the glass and other parts are custom (for replica) hence expensive to buy.
added that the car would most likely be RHD (LHD can be sourced)
basically doing it at shoestring as proof of concept before doing full replica in the future or not.
have had many people in interested even buying stake like a racehorse into the project as partners
any advise interest suggestions welcome
