Is that due entirely to tracking?

Or is there any other possible issues that could possibly cause this. I am actually talking on the innermost ,err, tread segment.

There car steer and feels just fine. The tyres are half worn otherwise.

Speed bumps I rarely ever need to use at all.

Hardly ever use full lock where on Mercedes the wheel is at wierd angles.
Never corner hard.

And, if recomendation is to get all wheel alignment, where to go to get it correct without any hassle.

Thanks.

It's probably due to the camber being incorrect. You need to find a specialist who has a Hunter wheel alignment machine or similar and who also knows MB's. I took mine to WIM at Chesham last year - they know their stuff.

Have messaged them. Google tells me it is 1hr 44 mins away, no worries :)

May be as simple as the tyres slightly toed out and just need a small alignment adjustment. My 350z was terrible for this as over time it would go from toe in to toe out on it's own. Just used to get it adjusted by an alignment check.

It is always interesting to visit somewhere like WIM to know everything is correct. Also they are the best people to change anything too. Well worth the money.

What tyres are you using, apparently this is a common issue with MB and Continental tyres.

I had this on my CLK last year. Turned out to be a worn ball joint in the lower track control arm. Fitted a pair of lemforders and had it set up on Hunter Hawk Eye. Don't waste any time getting it sorted because it will eat the front tyres very very quickly.

Also depends on how your cars been setup. A more fast road geo will create more ware on the inner edges.

I have my CL aligned at least once a year but it always eats the inner edges faster. As did my 911, and all my M5's

POTENZA RE002 That were on the car when I got it.

The rear have ContiSport Contact, err, 5 I think. I fitted those.

also get camber bolts put in the front - 4 in total I think. get them done at the same time as the alignment or just before you get alignment done.

The front camber on my 211 was a fair way out, but WIM sorted it by fitting 4 camber bolts - seems fine now.

I just had same with my e320 cdi. Both front wheel bearings had a little play in them so I adjusted them up. Then from jacking car up n/s/f top ball joints wear became more evident so renewed these.

Wear was right out on tyre edge going into sidewall slightly.

Seeing how it goes but have thought about camber bolts if it continues.

just had this on mine, got photos up on the amg thread. Getting the car aligned by MB be interesting to see what the results are pre and post alignment

Looks like I will be visiting WIM soon. Have spoke to them via email.
