i have a 2003 clk 270cdi and on the very front of the head is a block with a clear plastic fuel pipe attatched,i have a fuel leak from that pipe, is it a return pipe or delivery pipe, and do i have to go to the dealer for the pipe.

Yes. They have rubber seals to the ends but are well known for the pipes to go brittle and snap should you try to repair. I had mine replaced by my Indy specialist on my 2003 220 CDi but my guess is we are talking on par here. Just a different model.

From what you describe the pipe is going into the fuel pump. Make sure it is the pipe and not the fuel pump that is leaking. I ended up taking my pump off stripping it and rebuilding it with new seals and washer kit.

This happened just after pipes were replaced. Pumps can be expensive but if you have the knowledge the repair kit is fiddly to do and utmost cleanliness required. I enjoyed the challenge and success.

Not a very expensive job tbh.

the pipe i suspect is under the fuel pump so very hard to see if its the pipe or the pump

Make sure that on replacing the plastic pipe, that green washers are used and not black, the green ones last longer and less likely to go brittle ..and for a few pence more well worth it, score another one off the "To Do" list :thumb:

where do the fuel pumps leak from, and where do i get the fuel pipe and washers from please.
