Hi, I need to change the bottom lower rear front suspension arms on my w220 but where the shock absorbers sit onto the bottom arm ball joint it is held by two grub screws, now they are solid; I tried and they just wouldn't move, now I didn't know if i could apply heat to them as they are gas & oil filled. Anyone know how to remove them please. Noticed this because the car was squeaking like a bag of mice going on holiday.
PS I got Febi Bilstien parts a third of the dealer price also a rear brake sensor Febi again for 45 quid instead of 90 MB priced me.

thanks'all,
Bill.

Found this excellent description of the w220 airmatic suspension system.

and your answer HERE. Use a micro torch evidently! Some times stubborn screws can be freed paradoxically by a tightening "tweak" before trying to loosen them. I imagine this sort of problem is best tackled with a premium quality allen key and hammer airgun after judicious application of heat. Good luck.

It's looking like it, took it into a MB specialist on Monday and they cracked the two rear grub screws but they couldn't get the front one's done.
