I just bought a CDI 220 3dr Coupe so I thought I would join up here and get the most from it.

Quick Q. I see codes such as W124 W203 etc. to refer to particular models. It seems to be a secret code you all understand. What is it and how do I find mine.

Hey Froggus and welcome!

The 'codes' are to make it easier to understand what specific car you're dealing with as the models such as SL, S, C etc do change quite drastically as the years progress. So for example I have an SL, but there are different versions of that car that are radically different from each other, for example, roughly speaking the one from the 80's is the R107 SL, the one made in the 90's is the R129 SL, the next one, R230, came out around 2002 I believe etc. Now if you google these, you will see just how different they are, though they are all Mercedes SL.
