I thought it would be interesting to know what other members pay for their insurance. I'll start off;
W211 320Cdi
16 years no claims
Me & wife
£370 FC

2012 R172 SLK 9 years NCB, 6 points Me only with full business use £680 age 27

I pay under £300 for my W211 and the wife pays under £200 for her W203.

But it's not that clear cut. age of car, your age, driving history, postcode, excesses etc all make a difference so I can't really see how we can realistically compare.

Sorry to pee on your bonfire so to speak :)

£503 CL600 +Suzuki GV2000 both full comp me driving only.
Windscreen £70 on both £150 excess

It's a bit pointless anyway, but a vital piece of information is how much the excess is.

Hi there,

I am 30 years old, 8 years no claims, driving the below mentioned C180 Kompressor. £445 for me, however that is £100 cheaper than my 8 year old 1.8 Astra Convertible I just traded in for the Merc.

Although Ins Companies will do owt for a quick buck. £3.20 admin charge for changing cars. Madness

C32 amg 2 years no claims, three points and two named drivers. £892.00

Not to bad.

E63 AMG 9 yrs NCB protected NCB, 250 excess £895, only went up £40 yeay on year

C 250 TD £ 350 FC
i LIVE IN FAIRLY RURAL AREA IN CORNWALL
HALF THE PRICE OF MY 328 IC

All depends where you live, your age, if there is any points on your licence, NCB, type of work you do, type of car, engine size, value of the car, where it`s parked at night, do you own you property, and so on.
I am lucky I live in a very low crime area in Northamptonshire, never made a claim since passing my driving test in 1973, clean licence and own my house, so I payed £430 (fully com) last year for my CLK 270 CDI which I think is OK.
Have thought many times if I passed the advanced driving test how much cheaper it would be, which may take one day.

just had a quote for the wife and I.. £185, third party, fire and theft.. plus a meerkat..nice...

C270 CDI (W203)

Retired 60+ Social Domestic and Pleasure excl. Commuting
Comprehensive
20+ Years NCB (Protected)
7000 miles PA
Compulsory Excess £50
Voluntary Excess £100
Windscreen Excess £65
Including Breakdown Cover (Roadside & Recovery)
Self and 1 named driver
Garaged at night

£385

I would advise anyone who has their vehicles insured for themselves only to drive, to include a second driver (brother/sister etc) when next getting quotes. Obviously someone with a clean driving history is better. As far as I am aware they don't need to live at the same address. It's surprising how much it reduces the premium by.
