Regretably selling my C63. 13 plate black with PPP no slippy diff, sunroof, reverse camera, 18 inch wheels. Full MB service history, just had MOT and just renewed 1 years extended MB warranty, excellent condition with only 17500 miles last serviced feb 17. going for dare I say M5 competition pack.:dk: hope I'm allowed to post this in this section

Unless you already know and you're doing one of those "how much is my car worth" pseudo adverts, Auto Trader will give you the best idea, because this thread will soon fill up with two types;

1. Current owners who over value their cars by at least 20%

2. People looking to buy who'll value the car at 20% less than it's worth.

As Lee says, use AutoTrader as a guide, or WBAC if you want something more specific.

Thanks SPX I know what you mean, just that dealers px is insulting:mad:

The problem (if there is one) is that with cars like the C63 & E63 there is a wide margin between trade and retail prices. This isn't hard to understand when you consider the potential prep costs (most people will trade the car in when the brakes and tyres are shot) and also the cost of providing a warranty.

It's an unfortunate fact that getting out of one of these type of cars relatively soon after purchase is going to hurt financially pretty hard.

In the end it is worth what someone will pay! Depends on how quickly you want to sell it and how good you are at marketing to a potential buyer. Dealers want to make money after they have covered the cost of their overheads, cost of capital holding the vehicle in stock, extra warranties etc and factored in the risk a major problem occurring after they have sold it and being forced to repair it or refund the buyer.
I recently traded my low mileage, FDSH, E 320cdi for a similarly aged / mileage ML 320. into a non MB car dealer specialising in good quality high end cars.
In the month I have had it the they have replaced the 6 Glow Plugs and Controller, put a new sensor in the Parktronic and just ordered me a new accelerator pedal as the sensor was failing. All done with a smile and no hassle, not once have they suggested I resort to the RAC warranty given with the car. Am I worried that I can see my old car marked up at a good increase on the P/X value we agreed ? not at all in this case.
Mind you that is why I am running a 10 year old car and I refuse to trade in my wife's 3 year old one as the annual depreciation is just too high in the early years to make it a comfortable transaction unless you are happy to take a big financial hit to change your car

To add to that I previously had a 2001 Honda accord type r was immaculate in championship white, tein coilovers, full stainless exhaust, long arm K&N, 17" lightweight wheels, top end rebuild, undersealed, uprated brakes all round it was kitted out, I part ex'd it in for my current car they said it booked at £350!!!! Basically said piss off they ended up offering me £1000 which I know was really low but mileage was against me and the car I wanted was a bargain and best I'd seen, so I part ex'd it in literally the next day it was up for £3000 and sold a few days later, it is worth what someone will pay end of, I was devastated I'd lost so much money but the bottom end did blow up a week after he brought it so good timing for me lol.

Moral of the storie expect to get raped part ex in, they need to make money there just a quick solution, sell it privately and get a lot more money.

You could try selling it here?

WBAC could be a better bet than the dealer PX

I sold my white 62 plate 2012 c63 saloon with ppp and lsd , reverse camera , 6cd, hk ,etc 18in rims with 29k miles last november. Fsh and mint but no warranty left. Sold to a specialist for £27.5k. He sold it 3 days later with 19in rims fitted and a warranty for £33500. Wbac were £25k from memory. Bad time of year etc but suited me as was offered a Cayman S at trade price. Would est £29/31k tops private for your car if you can find someone prepared to pay it. Dealer will ask £34k ish.

Interesting, i've had accords for a good few years... well 8 to be precise, done everything from full N/A to Turbo and had various shells.

I decided to move upwards and onwards away from the old FWD life, and it was a good decision.
Here's a pic of the two Accords i had at one point
