How to open a OVP socket 89 w124 230e?

Mercedes list the OVP Socket minus pins and also list the pins minus the socket so you must be able to split it open

How do you get inside the plug?

My OVP Issues are back again and playing with the wires eventually tends to solve it

I am guessing dry solder joint on socket or female pins not gripping male pins on OVP properly?

Bot new and old OVP check out fine

If it's anything like the 201,the seat for the ovp just unclips,then you can pull the
female connectors out,I expect they will be nicely oxidised.

Just got it to behave again by pulling the OVP out of its socket part way then rocking it to one side whilst pushing it home

My guess is as you say either oxidization or the socket pins are loose and not gripping the pins

Seriously considering buying new pins from Mercedes and de-soldering them one at a time and replacing with new socket pins
