I'm looking for an indoor car cover for my R172 SLK but I'm rather overwhelmed by the choice and price range

I want a tailored fit not a generic cover.

Any recommendations?

Get an outdoor cover. This way you can use it outside as well as inside. Money wise they cost the same (give or take.)

Yes good idea ,,outside one will do both jobs as above,..But will make removal a lot harder .I know, i have fully fitted water proof Monsoon car cover that i use .Not easy to put on there on your own. With the car you have ,i would get a good one, and it will last longer..

Google CarCoverShop, they do both indoor and waterproof covers to fit various makes and models. I bought a blue cotton indoor cover ( in a zipped storage bag ) for my w211 E320 which fitted nicely, easy to get on and off and kept all dust off the car while out of use.
Only used it 3 times while we lived in Jersey and car was in storage for a few months off and on. Not needed now as car used regularly as we are in Wales and do not have a garage If anyone interested send me a pm as happy to sell it for £50 , cost over £100 .

This is a covercraft Weathershield HP fitted on our SL.

It is excellent in fit and finish and absolutely waterproof. I find it easy to fit and remove myself.

It was around £480 from memory but is one of the higher spec covers.

Thanks all for the suggestions.....looks like internet shopping tonight....

I've had my ClassicAdditions indoor car cover for about 6 years. It is soft cotton and used daily since purchase. A durable product.

Having had both indoor and outdoor covers ... I would (and do) use a lightweight indoor one. They're easier to handle and store, and wash if necessary. And it's really not necessary to go for an exact tailored fit. I got this cotton one one on eBay about 9 years ago:

It was about a quarter the price of the outdoor cover I had previously (which was a Covercraft one).

There are clearly plenty of suppliers of car covers, many who do good quality items.
If someone has recommended one they have experience of on the same type of car, that has to be worth considering.

I do recommend you check what is available from Hamilton Classic as I know they do good products for many marques. I do count Alastair as a friend, but that is not a cause for bias, just flagging that up anyway.
See Breathable Car Covers, Car Shelters & Car Care Specialists or on Farcebook at https://www.facebook.com/hamiltonmotorsport

You can see them at many classic car shows, NEC, etc.
