clk270 55 plate diesel
Hello
I have a 55 plate 270 clk cdi & the injector nearest to the bulkhead is leaking which I presume will be the copper washer that needs replacing. I am wondering if there are any problems I may come across when changing the copper washer? It has not been leaking for very long so there is not a lot of carbon build up.

I had the most trouble with the injector closest to the bulkhead. It's a straight forward job once you've the injector out. I found getting the engine upto temp first helps a lot. I would be looking at doing the job ASAP before it gets any worse.

As above the injector closest to the firewall is always the hardest to remove, you may need a slide hammer, worst thing that can happen is the bolt snaps.

Poured some engine oil in the recess where the injectors sit & started the engine & found 2 more are leaking! I loosened the bolts that clamps the injectors in & they all seemed loose. I got 5 new copper washers from a friend who works at a diesel specialist so I may replace all 5 tomorrow. Wish me luck !

Replace the bolts too - they are stretch bolts and one use. If you reuse them you are asking for things to snap/strip/generally go wrong.

Does anybody have the part number for the genuine stretch bolts as I am thinking that the genuine Mercedes bolts will be the best to use rather then the non-genuine bolts that are sold on eBay

DISASTER !!!
Went up to my friends garage today & took out the injector that was leaking, cleaned it up, cleaned the injector seat with the tool provided by my friend & put the new copper washer on along with a new bolt & my friend torqued it down to 7nm +90 degrees + 90 degrees drove up the road & heard a chugging so pulled up & the injector was half way out a sit had striped the threads in the housing !!!!
