I went for a walk today. Came across this tree that come down across the road. The local log guy (a friend) had cut it up and cleared the road. The trunk was hollowed out when he cut into it. Bees had created a giant hive in the hollow. Possibly the bees created the hollow? Huge honeycombs are clearly visible. As I was taking this in, some rather unhappy bees started to arrive. I thought it best to retreat. Sent from my iPhone using MBClub UK

Out of the strong came forth sweetness.

Bees would colonise but not create the space. Given how old that tree is a rotten core is normal.

It's an old Oak tree, which rot from the inside.

Some are so hollowed out you can stand inside them...as you shout...Timber...

Rather humbling that something that up until yesterday was just always there looking majestic is now open for all to see it's rather frail secret.
