International Rescure - ADAC German-only?

All,

Travelling to the Med next week, need international road rescue (ideally "stick it on a flatbed, get me a hire car and sort it out all out at home afterwards" but I'm realistic).

ADAC were recommended but their signup page

The membership in ADAC

now states it's for German addresses only (which is new), any recommendations? Should I call them and buy over the phone because nothing else is better?

Really don't want to end up with my car in the hands of some idle communist who thinks Rosbif + Mercedes = €€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€

You can get AA international cover for the duration of your trip.

We use the AA but I think that they my have top end restrictions on the age of the car on cover.

EDIT: just checked on their website and it says that an "older vehicle supplement" applies for cars over six years old.
