Is my tensioner screwed??

Got some nasty squeeling from engine bay. I think tensioner is failing. Just want opinion if i should replace pulley only or whole tensioner... There quite pricey.

Change the unit. It's not a bad job.

Spin the pulleys by hand whilst you are there and check for noise. Quite a cheap thing to replace anayway.

This is what happens if you don't change them! The bearing broke up and the pulley fell off. German autobahn too!!

Bish, looking at your photo again it looks like your belt is already staring to come off! I would have thought the bearing has loads of play in it.......

tensioners are expensive, but a replacement pulley will be cheap!

if the tensioner is holding tension then go for just the pulley, squeeling will be the pulley bearings

Working on the car this saturday will have belt off and check everything can only find pulleys On international ebay. Dont think mercedes sells them on there own.

My harmonic pulley is bad aswell i looked through my phone camera as it displays slower than the eye can see and its wobbling like mad i think this is whats causing my belt to Hang off then tensioner pulley and rough idle. I have a febi pulley on the way for noW. Seems my car starting to have some minor issues rescently! £££

Updat. I ordered crankpulley (febi) diddnt turn up.

Had echaust done today sounds amaizing then pulley sheered off at a junction (luckily) sods law was ment to be fixed today.

Part is A112.035.07.00 car has done 74k miles...

:fail am gutted...
