I'll be the odd one out here but I used to enjoy owning older cars with a few dents or rusty bits if the price was right.
It's liberating to not give a toss about your car, someone wants to borrow it? No problem here's the keys.
Parking in car parks? Yep, sling it in anywhere.
Washing the car? Get outta here.
Flintstones? Weren't they Stone Age?
Red C220 said:No I hear you. I'm currently spending far too much time looking at Late 80's and early 90's Range Rover classics for this very reason. I have a soft spot for them as I owned two of them years back and one stayed with me for 7 years. The idea of picking something up for about £3-£4K and just keeping it as a run about and problem solver for the one week a year that it snows seemed like a fine idea. Then I discovered they'd become collecters items already. So if anyone has a 3.9EFi Vogue RR Auto that runs and has an MOT I might be interested. I'm not overly bothered about a bit of rust as long as it's not Flintstones levels of rust.
There is a UK plated (F) Range Rover out in Skiathos. Owned by an English guy, it's a lovely dark blue colour and rust free. Sadly it cannot be used on the road because it's been there for more than 6 months.
Such a shame as it's such a nice car.

I lived and worked there on and off for years and drove my L322 RR to and from Halkidiki and spent 9 - 12 months at a time there (my RR was UK registered) and was never once pulled by the local police.
