My wife’s 2003 w209.342 model clk 200k has gone into limp mode for the second time in the last couple of weeks.
Both times no engine warning light has come on but fault code P2002-000 is recorded in the ecu. There are no faults recorded for the transmission. Everything returns to normal once the engine is restarted.
I’m using an icarsoft MBII to read the codes but it just states ‘the fault code is not found in the database.’ The firmware version of the MBII was fairly recent but I’ve just updated it to be sure.
I have (stupidly) deleted the fault code so now have to await it’s return before it can be read again.
I know the answer is probably going by to be use STAR to diagnose, but has anyone else experienced this fault code? The general list of fault codes doesn’t list it explicitly. I’ve seen a Russian list for the m111 which points me to accelerator position sensor which would make sense as the initiator seems to be accelerating briskly once joining a dual carriageway.
Thanks
Rich
