CLS 55 AMG
Sorry to bother you
I'm sure you've been asked before but please can you help......
I've had my cls 55 amg for about 2 months and I love it but when I drive it hard (which isn't very often) the power goes... the revs stay the same and it still sounds like I'm going fast but it's not pulling.... if I pull over or just take it easy for a minute or two it drives fine again until I give it some more stick then the same thing will happen ....
Does anyone have an idea or has this happened to anyone else and if so what should I Do?
Thanks
Steve.

Can anyone help please so I don't get my pants pulled down at the garage

I'm definitely just talking to myself aren't I............?..

Can anyone even see This?

Yes we can.

But this is not 999..... :D

Someone who knows about this things will surely come along at some point and reply.

Also... just to say that I don't know much about the CLS55, but if the engine is revving-up and the car goes no faster then it's abound to be a transmission issue. If the car was manual I would stay your clutch is on its way out, on an automatic it can be any number of things.

Sounds like the car is going into some kind of software controlled "safe mode" either to protect the engine or as already suggested the gearbox. This is normally accompanied by some sort of dash warning light [not maybe for a Gearbox Fault?] however sellers have been been known to disable such warning on lights if the car has given problems in the past so best to check all those warning lights go on with the ignition switched on and extinguish on start up. Other possiblity is some form of electronic throttle pedal problem. Best get the fault codes read by someone with a proper MB Star diagnostic system which can do live data while the car is running. Quite a few specialists round the country so if you post your general location someone can suggest someone [ specialist or good MB agent] close to you

Losing, It's losing............... Is there such a word as "loosing" [sic]?

Just throwing my two penny in , this sounds very similar to a fault I had with my BMW 3 series :( car would go into limp mode , it was diagnosed with problem with the ECU , indie cleared the fault codes and it never occurred again, well not while I still owned the car , which wasn't for long :D

Please let it be speedtronic.

Have someone with a scanner that can read MB codes look at it. The symptoms you describe could easily be the following:

1) Pedal Position Sensor - which will throw a code
2) Maf
3) Torque converter locking up due to a faulty solenoid

1 and 3 usually are more apparent when cold. Scan codes and let us know.

Best of luck.

Thanks for getting back to me I didn't know how it works on here.. it's my first day. I had car diagnosed yesterday with star and there wasn't any faults ... so I think from reading what you've said I need the guy in the car with me while I'm driving and it kicks into safe mode to see what comes up on star.???.
No warning lights come on the dash when this happens.
Thanks again people.

Could it be because of the intercooler pump, maybe needs changing

First and most obvious option given it's a very common problem and the symptoms are as described albeit with a bit of necessary translation :)

Would've been far quicker to use 'search' than moan!

Cls 55 Amg P2027-001 fault code

Moan.....???? Are you taking the Piss?
I came on here for advice not for abuse
Hold your tongue and show some respect
I've been nothing but polite but you , you little mug can go **** yourself.
