Lowering cls55 amg options?

At that price I would rather have a lowering module for not a lot more!
You have 3 options with airmatic, in no particular order:
1) Lower via star (no physical parts to fit) cost probably an hrs labour at an indy.
2) Lowering links (can be a bit fiddly to achieve the desired ride height) cost less than £100 (plus fitting if you can't/don't want to fit them yourself)
3) Lowering module (most expensive but most flexible option) cost around £400 (plus fitting if you can't/don't want to fit it yourself)

I had mine lowered on STAR, check my Sig for the thread with the photos.

I have a STAR machine myself and have pretty much figured out doing it / adjusting it myself :)

Lowering links will be £80 - £100

Abb pointed all the options, STAR and or links are the most cost effective

module is versatile and can be turned off which is a bonus.

I will contact my local merc specialist and see if they can do it for me via star. I had a look at cars dropped via this option and it does have a good enough drop.

If you take the lowering links route I'd give the overpriced CKS ones a swerve.

These are just as good IMO and are less than half the price.

ORDER - EVOLUTION KITS | Airmatic Lowering Links

Would you say lowering links have a better look than going the star route? And how long would you expect to take someone to fit it, Just so I can price up an hourly fitting cost.

THE links will allow you to go much lower

Fronts will take 5 mins a side to fit and the rear 30mins if you know what you are doing

I can have the rear out within 5 mins now

Adjusting is most time consuming as it's fiddly - allow an hour for this including testdrives etc

Can you still use the lift system?

My links cost £70.

There really is no need to pay big money for such an unstressed part. All features continue to work...ie it can be raised and lowered.

I will have to get this done via my merc specialist. No way I can do this myself...

I rang my specialist about doing it the Star way but they have never done it before so will probably order myself some lowering links which they will fit for me. Probably charge me 2hrs labour but never mind.

^ The front links are literally a couple of minutes a side to do.They just pop off. Don't even have to take the wheels off either. Adjust the new links before fitting so they are exactly the same length.

IIRC I had to increase the length of mine by 7mm max over the std links to get the maximum drop but obviously you'll get fitting instrucyions with whatever you order.

If I had to do mine again, I'd go the STAR lowering way I think and keep the oem links.

Is there anybody I can take my car to that can do it via star for me?
I live in west Sussex.

Olly at PCS in Horndean?

I am adjusting mine at weekend to raise rear slightly - would you guys appreciate a DIY ? For the rear ?
