Hi Folks,

Anyone any experiance of these guys???

I've been there a couple of times for parts for my 311CDI Sprinter and they just sent me direct to Mercedes Road Range (as opposed to chargning me extra for the parts). Both times they had a tasty selction of Mercs including a Brabus and AMG.

Seemed nice guys, just with my imminent (hopefully:D) purchase of a Merc I am looking for someone to look after it for me.

Thanks :thumb:

Search the web these people are terrible. Do not gotto MB MOTORS in chester.
There dont know what they are doing, very inexperienced and clueless.
Overall 1 problem with Rad cost me £800 because they had to fit 3 radiators in space of 1 week because didnt spot problem with subframe damaging rad as soon as engine was revved. Made me pay full price.
Ongoing problem with my car cost to fix by dealers £5k, cost so far to fix with MB MOTORS 5k and now the new turbo they fitted has blown, destroyed the cats all because oil return pipes were not on and leaking, caused turbo overheat and leak in turbo pipes not spotted. Dealers now will put new turbo new cats 5k something i paid MB MUPPETS in chester to do and they had about 4 goes at it, absolutely clueless.
Never call you, keep your car for ages like weeks before doing anything, again not ringing you. All the time being very ****y. Not nice people, unless your going for an oil change, but you might aswell do that at your local garage.

Hello I live in Chester and never heared of them. I use one in hoylake which are the mechanics from Liverpool road range when it closed. They seem very good.

Reply to Biturbo

Hi all, as everyone knows there are two sides to every story and here is MB Motors very brief reply to Biturbo. Yes we fitted 2 radiators to his very unloved E class, between fitting, the car was damaged at the front end causing the radiator to, as he says, get pulled into the engine.
The problem with his S600 Biturbo was diagnosed by a franchised dealer as being the L/H turbo needed replacing they ordered the part @ £2500.00 but he bought one from the internet for £500.00, they still have the part in stock if you know anyone who wants one at a good price, a part was missing from it when we were fitting it and had to wait for the part to come from Germany. Biturbo took the car but complained of a whistling noise, again he took the car to a franchised dealer who, he said used a camera to diagnose the fact the exhaust manifold gasket required replacing, we bought the part, took the engine out and fitted the gasket, it didnt fix the fault. He has had someone fit new non Merc cats to the car and now blames us. From day one we suspected that the turbo he bought was suspect but he maintained it was brand new. Thanks for your time. MB Motors of Chester Ltd.

@ Bi-Turbo - I have searched the web as you said, but cannot find anything bad about MB motors? Can you direct me to it?

I have (since posting this question) spoken to three people (a business associate, a friend of my dads and a friend who bought a CL55 before xmas) who all own Mercs and use MB Motors and they have all genuinely raved about them as being fair, honest and (comparitively) reasonably priced. I am in no way affiliated with MB Motors, but am just sharing the info I have gleaned over the last month.

@A210AMG - What is the name of the garage you use in Hoylake? My in laws live in West Kirby and they have just bought a Merc.

MB Motors - Good that you took the time to respond..

I read a lot of Biturbo's posts at the time and it seemed to me not to stack up...
makes a lot more sense with the other side of the story.

I had cvt mercaid of manchester fix my car for me.
Truely professional company took them 7 days all problems sorted.
The problem with my posts are i am just saying what the so called experts tell me when trying to diagnose the problem, new cats etc. As MB Motors were doing nothing to fix the issue, ie why it was 5 months nothing being done.

Anyone ring mercedes parts, only 1 turbo ordered in 3 years for the s600.
CVT Mercaid had the turbo sent off to KKK to diagnose and there was no damage to the turbo but the spindle was off center when it spun, this is something that can happen if the turbo is dropped.

I can't prove either euromerc sold me a dropped turbo or MB Motors dropped it. As the damage was impact damage. So its me who has to lose out on 4k for having the turbo fitted twice. No Offense!! Not MB Motors or Euromerc, but one of them has done me.
Experts tell me when you put a turbo for s600 by trying to squeeze it in, it weights abit, very crampted, is there a chance you lose your grip on something that weighs 20lbs and drop it?

Ive used euromerc a few times and all parts have been fine.

But again i can't prove otherwise id have contacted my lawyer.

I had my s600 off the road for 5 months trying to sort out the problem with MB Motors.
Anyways anyone want to know the job that was done ring CVT Mercaid in manchester
CVT took the car as i paid for a new gasket to be put in with MB motors but 1 days later i had to get towed by the AA as smoke was blowing everywhere, i decided never to go back to MB motors. Then within 1 week all problems solved, this confirms it for me the difference between a good and bad specialist.
They said that whoever fitted the turbo was 'a total disgrace' 0161 205 1410 .
Ring them and they will tell you all the bad work done. Apparently MB Motors Chester tried to put the turbo in without taking engine out and started to bend the frame to try and squeeze the turbo in. Ring CVT for someone who fixed the issue for the opinion of the work done by MB Motors they spent 3 days trying to find out what had been done as didnt want to put a turbo in again without checking everything. There is a list of things. I have a box full of bent parts and pipes that they replaced, trim that had been bent, pulled snapped. Everything has been replaced and redone.

I dont want to ever go back to MB Motors so i had my ball joints done again. I had them done at MB Motors in Jan 2011 but instead of going back and having them redone because it was done badly first time round i paid twice again to get someone to do it MD Mercedes in ellesmere port 0151 357 3111.
Like i said it went in gleaming it would come back covered in dirt, once i had a mcdonald drink in the fridge in the back.
Took it to both MD Mercedes and CVT and they valet it no extra cost.
I have paid the price in cost and time by chosing MB Motors, anyone feel free to ring those specialists and they can tell you what they think.

Wrong the car came in with a damaged radiator and 3 broken fan blades, i have the invoice.
Then new radiator fitted. 1 day later broken, in again another radiator and the tell me subframe is bent in. Didnt think mmm strange 3 fan blades broken and radiator damaged.

Unloved, I have a folder full of work that ive done also Full mercedes main dealer history 185k mile w210. Rust everywhere but its a w210 and as a specialist you should know it has alot of rust that model and i replaced 2 front wings but the frame underneath was rusting i wasnt about to spend kkk on panels.

people want links.

'You must take the car away from these idiots. I have had dealings with MB Chester recently. They are a disgrace. Do yourself and your car favour and talk to the guys at PCS about your issues....don't worry about the distance, it will be for the best in the end. '

Anyways, MB Motors have been terrible for me cost me a fortune, terrible service. If they are good for you then great. Ive gone elsewhere and no problems car is great again. Its upto people to make there own mind up. Again ring those specialists for technical low down i had loads of problems took the car else where all gone and done 4k in miles and nothing drives like new.

There are a surprising number of MB indies in the area but none of them seem to get regular positive comments as a few of the more Southern indies do.

The one I see most often is Autobarn, Quaint Farm, Welsh Road, Ledsham (near Ellesmere Port) but I think he specialises in older models.

'a part was missing from it when we were fitting it and had to wait for the part to come from Germany'
strange at the time you said it was a nipple that was broken when fitting.

'He has had someone fit new non Merc cats to the car and now blames us.' BTW its those same cats that are on it now. CVT mercaid just cleaned the cats out and they are fine, only needed to do that because of the smoke when gasket was put in.

'Biturbo took the car but complained of a whistling noise, again he took the car to a franchised dealer'
Yes as they had the car for 8 weeks no clue as to problem and nothing was being done so i took it to dealers for 300 quid diagnosis, something i love to do.

'who, he said used a camera to diagnose the fact the exhaust manifold gasket required replacing, we bought the part, took the engine out and fitted the gasket, it didnt fix the fault.'
Nope it was a listening device, i bought the part well according to my invoice i did and yes it didnt fix the fault but it did make the turbo start to suck oil out of the engine that was causing the smoke.

'From day one we suspected that the turbo he bought was suspect but he maintained it was brand new'.
Yes, you thought it was the wrong sided turbo, but you were holding it the wrong way round.

Im letting this thing drop now as it not something you want to keep on your mind paying over 11k in repairs over various errors.
I took the car to Acid from this forum in birmingham. Ask him what his brother said of the job that was being done on my car by MB Motors

It's MD Motorcare - I use them to take care of my car now. Feel very comfortable with Dave and his team.
